Today will be
another busy day as the free two-day Adams Avenue Roots & Folk Festival continues on five
stages in Normal Heights featuring San Diego Cajun Playboys, Tomcat
Courtney and Los Fabulocos.
Green-thinking San Diegans will also be heading to Balboa Park on Sunday to celebrate EarthFair 2006. The largest free environmental event in the world will kick off with a children’s parade at 9am. Parking will be a hassle for the annual educational fair — so consider riding your bike. Free valet parking is available for your two-wheeler all day! Over 60,000 participants are expected to share all things environmental. The daylong event (until 5pm) boasts more than 200 exhibitors, health- and technology-themed areas, a food pavilion serving healthy fair food and five entertainment venues. They even have a folk music stage and a kids’ area. Want to save energy around the house? Earthfair will be featuring the latest alternative home-building technologies in the eHome exhibit area. btw...HillQuest will be having a potluck picnic in the area between the botanical building (lath house) and the art museum. |
