City Attorney Mike Aguirre

State of the City Attorney’s Office
Michael Aguirre reiterated his efforts to reform City Hall and recounted his past two years in office at City Hall last night. The address covered legal accomplishments and highlighted issues critical to San Diegans including “mistakes that were made throughout the history of our city.” Much of the speech was critical of our past mayors and the Union-Tribune. The City Attorney recently launched a news blog on his office’s website because of his dissatisfaction with the paper’s coverage.

The Holiday Party Season is Underway!
Thursday night’s GLT party at the newly remodeled Top of the Park opened the community’s holiday season. Hundreds of friends and clients of San Diego’s most popular gay and lesbian weekly nibbled treats from dozens of restaurants while enjoying the best views in town from the seventh floor of the Park Manor Hotel. Host Michael Portantino introduced Mayor Jerry Sanders, one of GLT’s Persons of the Year. Police Chief William Lansdowne was stuck at O’Hare Airport and unable to attend. Diane Trudeau (Dr Jeff Keeny’s longtime office administrator) proved to be the belle of the ball, posing at the right with Santa Nicole.
