>> The Hillcrest Town Council (HTC) has been formed and the steering committee’s has created a mission statement: “To provide a voice & enhance the quality of life for Hillcrest renters & homeowners while supporting actions that benefit our neighborhood. Yesterday steering committees of both the Hillcrest Neighborhood Watch and HTC decided that both groups should work together. Meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30. Their next meeting will be held Tuesday, February 13th in the Joyce Beers Community Center (map 6-B). The Hillcrest Neighborhood Watch will begin each monthly meeting. All Hillcrest residents are asked to attend.

Daniel Ellsberg

Daniel Ellsberg joined in the downtown war protest today
Famous for leaking a classified Pentagon study of the Vietnam War to The New York Times, Daniel Ellsberg will joined war protesters at a downtown demonstration at Horton Plaza from 2-3pm.

Saturday evening the nation’s most renowned and respected whistle-blower spoke in Hillcrest at First Church on the need for the Pentagon Papers of the Middle East, a resolution to the constitutional crisis due to the President’s abuses of power and an enlightened and effective policy to prevent nuclear proliferation and further US aggression. Hillcrest’s House of Heirloom


House of Heirlooms building deemed Historic!
Thursday afternoon the San Diego’s Historic Resource Board disregarded the City’s own staff report and unanimously voted to designate the House of Heirlooms structure as historical. The 1919 building is the oldest one still remaining from the original St. Joseph’s Hospital complex. Thank you to everyone who spoke up and emailed in. You made a difference!
