Bobbie Bohannan

Bobbie and her boyz

The skies may have been a bit gray for Bobbie Bohannan’s annual Easter party today, but the spirits were high as the hostess with the mostess was lifted off her dainty feet by a gaggle of cute men. Dozens of friends gathered for a delicious buffet topped off by a hunt for over 300 hidden Easter eggs on the grounds of her Mission Hills estate overlooking all of Mission Valley.

“We think the wrongful conduct started with the decision to take her to a men’s jail in that condition rather than book her into a psychiatric hospital when she got to Grossmont Hospital. And then you add to that the fact that [sheriff deputies] put her face down on a gurney, got on her back and started suffocating her with a sheet, and then she died of asphyxiation.”

CityBeat Mike Aguirre cover

His day usually begins around 4am. After some work and a workout, Mike Aguirre drops by Peet’s for an extra energy boost…then it’s off to the office to continue his 2004 pledge to clean up the legal mess at City Hall.

This week’s CityBeat covers our City Attorney Mike Aguirre...
The Passion of Mike Aguirre
• Is Mike nuts?: How the Sunroad case fits into the whole Aguirre thing
• Mike Aguirre’s lonely crusade
• The downtown crowd has the city attorney surrounded
“It amazes me how much time the powers that be — the City Council, the Union-Tribune and the other nattering nabobs of San Diego insider negativity — spend bashing Aguirre, demonizing Aguirre and all but gathering up the bramble and bracken to make a bonfire and burn Aguirre at the municipal stake.”

“The mayor’s office has to step in and stop it. The public’s safety has to come before a developer’s interest. The solution to ensuring the public’s safety is to remove the top two floors of the building – period.”

Regina & Cristina Guzman

Welcome to Cilantro Live
Hillcrest’s newest restaurant opened yesterday at 3807 Fifth Avenue (between Robinson & University). Daughter and mother, Regina and Cristina Guzman were on hand to present the tasty and fresh, raw food to their first diners. The restaurant offers soups, salads, wraps and entrees. Their desserts are yummy...and of course, fresh and live! The family now owns the only four raw restaurants in San Diego County featuring organic, vegan and 100% live foods. They make their delectable creations by using nuts, seeds, grains, sprouts, fruits and vegetables.
