pensions. The public understands that. So does the county Board of
Supervisors. However, a stubbornly defiant county employees retirement
board still does not.” — Today’s editorial in the U-T

Another Study on Hillcrest MobilityThe City and Uptown Partnership are taking input on a follow-up study re: Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Avenues Traffic Calming project. In October 2005, Caltrans awarded $432,000 to the City and SANDAG to further analyze traffic and transit in that corridor. Yesterday afternoon a handful of residents and one restaurateur filled out questionaires re: intersections at Fifth Avenue and Upas, University & Washington; and Fourth Avenue at the same cross streets. The plans to cut two lanes from Sixth Avenue south of Upas along Balboa Park (one northbound, one southbound) was also shared. What do you think? A public workshop will be held on Saturday, June 23 from 9am-1pm at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 2750 Fifth Avenue. Please look at this plan & voice your opinion. |
