How about a little Christ in your Christmas?Father Tony Noble, the rector at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, sends his blessings to each and every one of you during this holy season. All Saints’, located at the corner of Sixth & Pennsylvania, is presenting a host of choices for one and all. At 6pm on Christmas Eve (tonight) Father Tony and his flock will be having a Creche service especially for families. Join the congregation to set up of the Christmas Creche and a solemn mass. The evening continues at 10:30 with Christmas carols sung by the choir and the congregation followed by a Christmas Eve Midnight Mass. On Christmas Day a low mass (at 8am) and high mass (at 10am) will take place at Hillcrest’s oldest church. All are welcome. |

“I really don’t understand it. I would have thought that more people
would have thought that was improper. But I don’t know if that’s the
way things have been done around here for a long time.” — Mayor Jerry Sanders at the
intersection of Public Integrity & Public Safety re: his employees cheating

“It does not surprise me that the people
who are in support of this hugely out of place project are either
non-residents, business owners, developers or architects. What
disappoints me the most is that our local Planning Committee and the
City Council have taken a stance so pro-business that they’ve forgotten
the people they serve – the residents.” — Kensington resident Sherry
Hopwood in today’s letters to the U-T editor

“This complex has been a part of the
Hillcrest community almost as long as the community has existed. While
it was originally built as a hotel, it was converted to apartments
about 50 years ago. Today, it is a prime location within walking
distance of all the trendy shops and restaurants. Our goal is to
participate in the area’s urban rejuvenation and make this a
luxuriously stylish building for not only the residents, but the
community as well.” — StarPoint Properties president

![]() Santa Claus at Bow Wow Beauty Shoppe The big guy in the red suit kicked back at Bow Wow Beauty Shoppe (1735 University Avenue) tonight to pose with pets for holiday photos. Owner Leel Michelle led tours of her six new individually themed pet suites and outside runs just perfect for doggy day care. Stop by her salon just west of Park Boulevard, and check it out....and while you’re there stop next door to the former location of Crepes de Paris and welcome Hillcrest’s newest restaurant, Babbo Grande (aka Big Daddy), to the neighborhood. Michael, Carmen and Mike are now serving comfort cuisine...yum! |

![]() A gift to preserve our history The Hillcrest History Guild, the nonprofit group that celebrated our community’s centennial throughout 2007, remains focused on remembering our past while linking to the future...and they could use your support. Until the end of the year individuals may become charter members of The Guild for only $10. Business may also consider gifting the 501-c3 with a tax deductible donation. In the new year the organization will begin walking tours to share our history. Interesting in being a docent? Give a call to (619) 260-1929. Other volunteer opportunities are also available. Become involved in our neighborhood’s history! |

“Any corrections of the 163 overpasses on
University and Richmond should be funded as a serious public safety
issue. As it is, the height of the railing is way too low to offer
protection to pedestrians or bicyclists. Travelers on the 163 also are
at risk.” — Rafael sharing his thoughts re:
