Today is International
Women’s Day<<< Bush Bride Protest In response to the Bush Administration’s “Healthy Marriage” initiative the Old Women’s Project called for a protest today (International Women’s Day) in downtown San Diego over the lunch hour. While women struggle for a living wage, affordable housing, adequate health care and to meet other basic needs for themselves and their children, this Bush plan will target low-income women with a $1.5 billion program, promoting and protecting marriage. The “Bush Brides” are satirical street theater, created to challenge and mock Bush’s patronizing Healthy Marriage Initiative — also known as the “Leave No Bride Behind Act.” Photos around the world on International Women’s Day Our page honoring these sage
gals!
