Hillcrest History Guild potluck dinner, December 8, 2009 at Joyce Beers Community Center

Hillcrest neighbors kick-off holidays

Seasonal spirit filled the Joyce Beers Community Center this evening as over 50 neighbors and friends shared a pot luck dinner. After feasting, local historian Sarai Johnson presented a slide show about the Marston House (their museum store will be having an open house this Sunday from 10am-5pm).

Benjamin Nicholls, director of the Hillcrest Business Association, spread cheer by giving away two pairs of tickets to this Thursday’s Taste ’N’ Tinis (see above). Thanks to everyone for sharing your yummy dishes with the community. Memorabilia from the Hillcrest History Guild archives was available for viewing.

Exchange up to three light strands for an equal number of multi-colored LED holiday light strands. On Friday night they handed out 2,000 sets. Saturday they have 5,000 strands to SD customers. Please bring a valid California ID or a copy of your recent SDG&E bill to participate. Special this year — receive a free home energy & water savings kit and a reusable shopping bag!
