Cal Coast Bicycles

Welcome to
owner Charlie Skerlecz
and Cal Coast Bicycles
3020 Adams Avenue in Normal Heights

Charlie has been in the bicycle business for over 18 years with ties to this location as far back as Cycling Tunes. Cal Coast Bicycles will continue to offer FREE LIFETIME SERVICE for all bikes that were purchased at this store — whether it was Cycling Tunes, Bike USA or Performance! Stop by for details. As a bonus, they will even honor customers with valid Team Performance cards by giving them a 10% discount. New merchandise is arriving daily — cruise by and say “hi”. Charlie and his wife live in neighboring North Park, making it an easy commute for two wheels! The store is located on Adams Avenue just east of I-805.

Hillcrest: what the Pasadena Star called “the anti-mall.”
That’s right, no engineer planned this experience — we simply ARE an experience – we are local folks providing what we love most-good food, cool clothes and furniture, books and shoes, music, soaps, beads, artwork and jewelry... the stuff of life, its everyday needs and special occasion desires. Feel the beat beat beat of the city’s heart right at Fifth & University, evenings, as shoppers and diners stroll by while traffic hums and lights twinkle.

And now: on the FIRST THURSDAYS of EVERY MONTH, the shops cordially invite YOU to explore and re-acquaint yourself with
your local businesses at the Heart of Hillcrest Walkabout, from 5pm to 9pm. Businesses and restaurants are staying open
late and providing snacks & refreshments, special treats and discounts of up to 20%! Come out and meet the locals…

Quince Street BridgeQuince Street Pedestrian Bridge
Happy 100th Birthday
to the Quince Street Bridge!

This great pedestrian bridge spans
Maple Canyon connecting Third and Fourth avenues at Quince Street.

City engineer (and neighborhood resident) George d’Hemecourt designed the Bankers Hill treasure one hundred years ago at a cost of $805. The 1905 structure is one of the few, or possibly the only, wooden trestle bridge
remaining in San Diego County.

walk around Hillcrest

A beautiful Saturday in the park...
