So Here’s the Thing....
What happens when the lives of 11 different people intersect and they discover that despite their differences they actually have something in common? From the alcoholic, pill-popping mother with the rebellious daughter to the nice guy in love with a girl who also happens to be in love with his boss, “So Here's the Thing...” delves into the very real situations of the young, lost and in love. Everyone struggles on the path to find fulfillment or find the “right” person, often falling in love with the wrong person along the way. But as they share their feelings, make their choices and decide their fates, what they find is that with acceptance comes love and with love comes loss. They also discover a shared bond
which gives them all the strength to celebrate life, love and each other.

First Thursday in HillcrestHillcrest: what the Pasadena Star called “the anti-mall.”
That’s right, no engineer planned this experience — we simply ARE an experience – we are local folks providing what we love most-good food, cool clothes and furniture, books and shoes, music, soaps, beads, artwork and jewelry... the stuff of life, its everyday needs and special occasion desires. Feel the beat beat beat of the city’s heart right at Fifth & University, evenings,
as shoppers and diners stroll by while traffic hums and lights twinkle.

And now the FIRST THURSDAYS of EVERY MONTH, the shops cordially invite YOU to explore and re-acquaint yourself with your local businesses at the Heart of Hillcrest Walkabout, from 5pm to 9pm. Businesses are staying open late and providing snacks & refreshments,
special treats and discounts of up to 20%! Come out and meet the locals including…

I’ve been talking to a lot of people about Donna. The thing I hear the most is that she is very honest and sincerely cares about SD. However, the negative is that I’ve heard is her inability to form a cohesive team (usually the “no” voter) and that a mayor has to be able to rally the council. Have you gals heard that too? I’m still voting for her because I trust her. Jerry Sanders might be able to get us out of debt, but I’m tired of the rich CEO types and the old boys’ club. We need to clean up City Hall, and get rid of the back door junk.  I think Zucchet and Inzunza should have resigned a long time ago. Even if they are innocent, their debacle has embarrassed the city and led to distrust of our government.”   — HillQuest.com reader

Happy Fourth of JulyRuben Galvan and his buddy

Did you watch the fireworks?
Lesley and David Cohn combined with partner Deborah Scott in throwing a great party at Island Prime on Harbor Island Monday night. Tasty treats were served up with four fabulous fireworks shows for a festive evening with a fun crowd including our favorite TV personality, Fox 6’s Ruben Galvan there with his gal pal >>>

Island Prime will open the first of the month!

I am a SD resident who supports Donna Frye for Mayor and will do everything in my power to see that she is re-elected Mayor. The fact that Councilmember Toni Atkins and State Senator Chris Kehoe have not endorsed Frye is a disgrace.

And let me make one further point: I’ve never, ever smoked a joint.
