With the first edition printed on Thursday, September 2, 1982, the San Diego Gayzette quickly became the ’80s most popular LGBT publication. Local entrepreneur (now realtor) Carla Coshow and a hardy band of community activists published the award-winning weekly until 1986. HillQuest has each of these paper treasures in our archives and will be scanning/posting articles to share this slice of history from Hillcrest.
