HillQuest edition #8Interested in sharing a slice of your Hillcrest history? It’s that time of year when the publishers of HillQuest begin gathering stories for the next edition of their urban guide. Do you have an interesting tale about Hillcrest for our eighth year? The 2010-2011 hip-pocket guide to 92103 will begin distribution the end of June as it again features dining, shopping, services and history of this diverse community. All Uptowners are encouraged to contact us soon with ideas on interesting articles. You’re also invited to talk to usFirst seven editions of HillQuest, an Urban Guide to 92103 and beyondabout promoting your business for less than a dollar a day.

As local small business owners, the publishers understand the challenges of the times. “Advertisers need to be smart and really stretch their dollars…one ad that will last for over a year instead of a week or a month will do that,” commented Ann Garwood who has owned Ad Ink Advertising Agency since 1983. “As an additional incentive, we’re holding rates for another year. HillQuest is by far San Diego’s best advertising value,” added partner Nancy Moors. City Deli owner Mike Wright says, “Our customers love the book. They read HillQuests cover to cover.”

For as little as $350 (that’s less than a dollar a day) businesses will receive a year’s worth of exposure throughout Uptown as well as a free listing of your service, restaurant or shop on Hillcrest’s most popular website, HillQuest.com. As a bonus the colorful foldout maps show the Hillcrest Business Improvement District’s parking lots, community centers and self-guided neighborhood walks. All advertiser locations are also identified, listed and directed to the page in HQ8 where readers may find their ad. The flip side of the map shows hiking trails and museums in Balboa Park and businesses in the adjacent neighborhood of Bankers Hill.

It’s exciting that people interact with us almost every day regarding the book or the website. Nancy and I enjoying sharing history and stories of folks who make up the colorful fabric of this great community that we love. We would like to take this opportunity to outreach to community members who may have an interesting tale to tell in our eighth edition. Please give a call at             (619) 260-1929       to discuss article submissions or to purchase an ad for HQ8, the best marketing tool in San Diego.
