Free screening Saturday of “The World According to Monsanto

Genetically modified foods, chemical-covered crops — a system so corrupt it is responsible not only for the demise of many small farms, but also for human illness and possibly death. Learn about the power players dominating the nation’s agricultural industry this Saturday evening at 6pm with a free screening of “The World According to Monsanto” at the Joyce Beers Community Center, on Vermont Street north of Cleveland. The screening is part of the San Diego Roots Sustainable Food Project’s Food for ThoughtFilm Series, educating viewers about important issues surrounding food and its connection to health. According to the organization’s website, Slow Food San Diego will provide locally-sourced, healthy snacks to attendees. A discussion about the local food movement will follow the screening.
