Pernicano parking to reopen for the community

Thanks to our Councilmember Todd Gloria, the Pernicano lot will open for public parking by July. When he was elected in November 2008 the councilmember identified the Pernicano site as a top priority. After diligently working with a family representative, Todd and his staff were successful in convincing the Pernicanos to contract with a parking management company who will have the lot re-surfaced, striped and reopened for public use. “This is the best news I’ve heard in ages!” exclaimed Cathedral owner Amy Capano. This long awaited opportunity for additional parking will be the first use of the Pernicano property (along Sixth Avenue between Robinson and University) since 1984.
