There were 35 this year along with almost 4,000 members of the purple-shirted Team in Training who blended well with the community’s colorful jacaranda trees Sunday morning. A 27-year-old Kenyan (Daniel Yego) pulled away from the lead pack just after the mile 19 marker and ran away with the marathon, finishing in two hours, nine minutes and four seconds.
