Hillcrest residents, business owners and friends held an educational rally this afternoon near the site of the planned 12-story 301 University development. Community activists Tom Mullaney with Friends of San Diego, John Taylor with SaveHillcrest — No on 301, HBA boardmember and journalist Leo Laurence, Steve Satz, Barry Hager and George Wedemeyer explained the reasons why many citizens are against this proposed 96-condo/mixed-use project.
This Tuesday afternoon’s city council vote on 301 University will be the most important in recent Hillcrest history. Will 301 University forever change Hillcrest’s community character? What are community leaders doing to stop massive development? Is Hillcrest the new downtown? Ensure that your voice is heard! Contact Tom (619) 795-1753 or John (619) 997-5299 for more info or to volunteer your energy.
