FYI — Attempted Dognapping:
SDPD say that a 73-year-old woman and her Yorkshire terrier were attacked by a would-be dognapper in Hillcrest on Tuesday night, but the woman sucessfully fought him off. The woman was pushing her 12-year-old Yorkie and several bags in a shopping cart when a man passed by on a bicycle and grabbed the dog near the intersection of Sixth and Pennsylvania avenues.
Authorities say the woman pulled out a 10-pound bag of books and knocked the robber off his bicycle. Then she kicked the robber in the groin, grabbed her dog and started to walk away. But the man got up and hit her on the side of her head with his hand and fled on his bicycle. Police say the woman and her dog were not harmed.
