Toast to Hillcrest!

This fundraiser for the Hillcrest History Guild, gives those over 21 an opportunity to celebrate one of the nation’s best neighborhoods with wine, spirits and nibbles. Stroll thru the ’hood from pub to cafe, or jump on and off the big red double decker bus for free. Buy your tickets at HillcrestHistory.org in July while they discounted to $19. 6:00-8:00pm — Summer Concerts Trolley Barn Park
Tonight the concert series presents The Midili Brothers Band playing classic rock from the 50s through the 80s. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnics to Trolley Barn Park for this great summer series. The concerts are presented by the University Heights Community Association.
6:00pm — Museum of the Living Artist Reception
Juried and awarded artwork from Outstanding Visual Artists of the region. Plus 5th Grade Program Art. You are invited to join this Special Artist Reception. SDAI members free, non members $3. The San Diego Art Institute is located in Balboa Park, House of Charm, and 1439 El Prado. Requested Gallery Donation: Adults $3. Senior Citizens, Military and Students $2. Children under 12 admitted free.
10:00pm — Rockstreet at Flicks
Rockstreet is the only live rock cover band performing on a regular basis in a gay bar. Come check out why they are one of the best cover bands in San Diego. This is an ongoing gig the last Friday of each month at Flicks, 1017 University Avenue in Hillcrest.
10:30pm — Elvira
It’s the 20th anniversary of Elvira’s cult classic, and the original Elvira will be on hand, introduced by Peaches Christ. This is the only known print of the film, and it will be screened tonight at the Gaslamp Reading Cinema, 701 Fifth Avenue, Downtown. $20.
