Asthma

Breathe Easy
According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute approximately 20 million Americans of all races and ages are living with asthma. It is a chronic condition obstructing the air passages to and from the lungs. Symptoms include coughing, wheezing, chest tightness and shortness of breath, and can often be mistaken for seasonal allergies. Animal dander (from skin, hair or feathers), dust mites, pollen, mold and scented products are just a few environmental elements that can trigger an asthma episode.

If you notice asthma symptoms, consult your physician immediately. Although there is not yet a cure, healthcare professionals can prescribe medications that will help. Individuals who take prescription medications should always check with the doctor before trying over-the-counter remedies. Remember, when it comes to maintaining good health, Doctor knows best!
