Yelpers tell the story of Lotus Thai and here’s what they say.

“This is my favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego! The curries are amazing. I think I actually might like the green curry better than most, if not all, that I tried while traveling through Thailand. (I am a huge fan of green curry!)

The atmosphere is nice- more authentic than other thai restaurants in the area. The prices are very reasonable, and the service is always friendly.”

Bread and Cie.jpg
350 University Avenue, San Diego, CA

Bread & Cie Bakery and Café bakes hand-made, old-world European rustic bread and pastries seven days a week.  The unique flavors, textures, and crusts give our breads a wonderful versatility and are a result of meticulous preparation using age-old artisan bread making techniques, premium ingredients, and the finest stone-hearth oven imported from Europe.

All of our breads are:

  • baked fresh each and every day
  • made with all natural ingredients, including organic flour for all whole wheat recipes
  • made with “natural starters” for leavening rather than commercial yeast to make our dough rise (a 2 day procedure) which unlocks and intensifies the flavor of grain during a slow fermentation process
  • baked in an imported, 10,000 ton, hearth deck bread oven
  • made without any preservatives

In other words, Bread & Cie makes hard crusted bread in the most expensive, time-consuming, most painful way possible.

Hours:

Monday thru Friday 7am-7pm
Saturday 7am-6pm
Sunday 8am-6pm

I came up with the concept for Kous Kous Moroccan Bistro while growing up in the beautiful city of Marrakech, Morocco.

I always enjoyed our rich Moroccan traditions: the aroma of our slow cooked Tagines, the colors of our murals and rugs, and the sights and sounds in the marketplace. At the same time, I yearned to discover and learn from the west. I listened to international music, learned other languages, and gradually acquired a mindset that helps me to understand and embrace both worlds.

Kous Kous Moroccan Bistro is a way to share my story, and the pleasures of my country, with you. I invite you to enjoy the fragrant herbs and spices, music, and colors of Morocco and perhaps you’ll be inspired to share your stories, too.

Your host,
Moumen Nouri

You may be wondering what type of place MO’s is. Located in the heart of San Diego’s GLBT community, Urban MO’s as a hetero-friendly gay restaurant that makes the best burgers in San Diego, hands down. We’re colorful. We’re fun. We’re the best time you’ll have on any given afternoon, and an even better time in the evening. We believe that cocktail glasses should be adorned with plastic farm animals. We believe that San Diego is better served with outside patio seating. MO’s is more then a bar, more then a restaurant, and more then San Diego’s number one GLBT hot spot, we’re part of what makes Hillcrest, Hillcrest.

Lalos Tacos.jpg
1266 University Avenue, San Diego, CA

Located in the Uptown District of Hillcrest, Lalo’s has been a neighborhood favorite since 1989. In 2005 we grew from a “hole in the wall” taco shop, and added on to the restaurant by taking over the vacant space next door. Local artist Rik Ericsson has done an amazing custom paint job, with many whimsical touches, to create a relaxing atmosphere.

Lalo’s serves authentic, homemade Mexican food of the highest quality. We use lean black Angus beef, boneless skinless chicken breast and fresh vegetables in our dishes. Because we do not cook your food until you order, it will be hot, moist and delicious.

Come in and try the Caldo, a big bowl of Mexican soup served with rice and tortillas. Loaded with vegetables and meat (chicken, beef or meatballs) it is a meal in itself. A new favorite at Lalo’s is the Birria de Res, a dish of shredded beef in a savory red broth, served with onions, cilantro, rice, beans and tortillas. You can also “build your own burrito” at Lalo’s to get just what you want. Lalo’s also has several different breakfast combinations or burritos to choose from, and we serve breakfast all day.

Don’t worry if you can’t come in to eat, just give us a call and we will have it packed and waiting for you to take out.

Let Lalo’s cater your next party! Large or small, we have many different options for you to pick from, and Lalo is always happy to help you plan your party menu.
