   Pick up and read the August 2 issue of the Gay & Lesbian Times -- featuring Hillcrest and our centennial.
   Overall it’s a great article with quotes from a multitude of sources covering several topics including our history, traffic issues, the 301 University project and a proposed community plan. There are some errors (as in only 60, not 121, additional parking places will be gained if 301 University is completed as planned).

   I think it’s quite interesting that Toni Atkins now "feels like we're moving away" from our "village because of some of the development that's been approved.”

   Wasn't it she who led her city council colleagues to a 7-1 vote approving the 148-foot 301 University development after being given a petition against it signed by hundreds of her constituents?

   To quote our councilwoman — "What is this impending encroachment of tall buildings going to do to our village feel?"

   And why wasn't she in our corner to help us?

   it was a great piece! interesting historical tidbits!

   San Diego and Hillcrest history absolutely fascinates me , and I read up on everything I can...

   I am so grateful to Ann & Nancy for sharing so much Hillcrest History with me, be it through telling me verbally, or on the websites, and books... I love to amaze my friends with all of my Hillcrest knowledge! :)
