Join us on Sunday, July 5th for the 7th annual Hop in the ’hood
in 3700 block of Seventh Avenue
(between Robinson and Pennsylvania in Hillcrest)
For the fourth year —

Flower Power Parade
at 12:15
One block parade route...Seventh Avenue from Robinson to Pennsylvania...with several trips around the Hop in the ’hood stage! Participants in San Diego’s third annual mini-Rose Bowl parade, Hillcrest’s Flower Power petal (pedal?) parade may setup in the telephone company lot on Seventh Avenue just south of Robinson in the morning. Organizers are encouraging everyone (kids and/or adults) to enter a bike, trike, wagon, etc. with at least half of the float’s decorations consisting of live flowers or plants.
Participating is not only fun, it’s easy. No entry fee. No RSVP. Prizes for all entries. Each float should be a tricycle, bicycle, wagon or a combination of wheeled vehicles with a minimum of half the decorations grown from plants. No motors, only people (or animal) powered and all floats must be less than nine feet long.
Bonus points for creativity! A traveling trophy will be awarded (then inscribed). In 2006 the SD Floral Association took first place, and for the past two years Richard Pereyra, Mike Friedberg and Philly took top honors. Who will win in 2009?
