Get used to Sixth Avenue being closed

To some it’s a hassle, but many residents are enjoying having four lanes of empty asphalt as a gateway to and from Balboa Park. “It’s sooo much easier to ride a bike or jog,” said one happy Hillcrester. The city’s notice explained that on July 21 the street would be closed for eight days to relocate or replace several sewer manholes and the installation of over 1,000 feet of new sewer main.
Last week the “closed” date was moved forward to August 4, and yesterday it was again changed to August 14. So…who knows. Be patient. It will be closed for at least another two weeks. In the meantime, try to avoid Pennsylvania, especially during peak traveling times.
