“Hillcrest” is one hundred years old. Before 1907 this part of San Diego (& much of North Park) was called University Heights, but when William Whitson set up a real estate office at Fifth & University to sell lots for his “Hillcrest Company” the name caught on…and the rest is history. At their last meeting the HBA formed a centennial committee, and many plans are now underway for celebrations throughout the year. Your ideas and energy are welcome.
