Olive Street Park named as site for AIDS Memorial

The AIDS Memorial Task Force announced that a small parcel of land in Bankers Hill will become the site for a proposed AIDS Memorial.

Background: In his final days in office, former council member Todd Gloria along with Mayor Kevin Faulconer designated funds from the sale of the city-owned Truax House for the creation of an AIDS Memorial.

Additionally, a parcel of land in Bankers Hill, (donated to the city by the Woods & McKee families for a neighborhood pocket park) was earmarked by the council member as the location.

The task force announced that they will be accepting proposed designs for the memorial.
