Faced with a tripling rent bill at their West Washington Street address in Mission Hills, Jimmy Carter and Dulce Huicochea have moved their staff and menu to JC’s original cafe at the corner of Fifth & Spruce (just a block west of the park).
After closing for one week to remodel, the colorful eatery is again open…and business is brisk. Weekend sales exceeded the popular restaurant’s previous record which was set during last year’s LGBT Pride celebration.
Tasty tip: try one one of Dulce’s homemade soups, an unbelievably delicious chile relleno or a yummy chicken enchilada topped with her Talaquepaque sauce.
