July 18, 2011 protest in Balboa Park against the Jacobs/Sanders bypass12 Questions from the Voice of SD re: the proposal

Show up at City Hall Tuesday at 2pm

It’s difficult when you have a job, but if possible… attend Tuesday afternoon’s city council meeting beginning at 2pm. San Diego City Hall, 202 West C Street, 12th Floor as the council decides whether to move forward with the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to fund a private project by the Plaza de Panama Committee, more commonly known as the Jacobs/Sanders Plan, to build a bypass bridge off the Cabrillo Bridge, a paid parking garage and numerous other irreversible alterations to Balboa Park.

The mayor’s defense strategy is to proclaim that the public loves this project and that SOHO and 28 other organizations including five community planning groups of elected community representatives and the League of Women Voters, and thousands of petition signers, emails and phone calls in opposition to this plan do not represent the public. If you cannot attend the Tuesday afternoon meeting, please email the members of the city
