Saturday protest for equal rights for all

Grassroots community organizers across the country will join in a national protest against Proposition 8. “Join the Impact” has organized these rallies to happen simultaneously at 10:30am here and 1pm on the east coast as “one loud voice to be heard across the nation.” It is estimated that over 250,000 people will participate in rallies and marches in over 100 cities in the US and internationally. San Diego will be participating with two coordinated events.
#1 protest march that will start at Sixth & Upas in Balboa Park (meet up at 10am). After marching through downtown, it will end at the County Administration Building. #2 rally held there on the lawn at 1pm. Speakers will spread a message of hope and equality while discussing the fight against Proposition 8 andwhat can be done to ensure equal rights for everyone.
The protest will be peaceful & positive. The San Diego event will be one of the largest in the nation and receive a lot of media attention. Organizers are expecting 20,000 people. Anyone who supports equality is encouraged to attend and support the event. We encourage family, neighbors, co-workers, friends and all to join us. Anyone who cares about individual rights should be very concerned about the passage of Proposition 8.
