St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2006

StPatsParadeThe Irish Congress of Southern California and Guinness sponsored the 26th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday from 11am-5:30pm. Although it rained off and on throughout the day, it did not deter people from enjoying the live music, food and of course, the beer.
The parade began at Juniper and Sixth Avenue. Roads were closed along Fifth and Sixth to Upas Avenue to make way for the various floats, marching groups, school bands and many participating organizations.
Folks then made their way to Balboa Park for the St. Patrick’s Day Festival where they celebrated with Celtic music, corn beef and cabbage, traditional Irish dancers and Guinness stout beer.
