The (controversial) Flaming Skewer at 3896 Fifth Avenue will be back before the city’s Planning Commission on Thursday, September 1 seeking approval for a conditional use permit to sell hard liquor at their new restaurant in the heart of Hillcrest. The owner, Yusuf Arnitah, previously owned a package liquor store in the strip mall on the northeast corner of Sixth and University. Neighboring businesses and organizations are opposed to his request.
