Thanks for all your support! It was fun

Thursday’s fifth annual Toast to Hillcrest, a fundraiser for the Hillcrest History Guild, was busload of fun as hundreds revelers over 21 nibbled & drank their way throughout Hillcrest.

Reviews are coming in from revelers who enjoyed the dozens of bars and restaurants. Moni says:

I was able to visit 17 locations — what a treat! Here are the highlights of my tour: #1 Fifth AvenueNeal was quite a cutie, serving a special Toast cocktail. Brazen BBQ — definitely will be back for some more smoked…anything! Bo’s Seafood was very nice and had a tasty menu — will return for fish & chips(others said Bo’s clam chowder was sooo yummy). The RangeJessica was quite personable and the potato chip encrusted chicken was scrumptous! Local Habit served up great beer and smoked pork loin. Hottie Monica serving Gossip Guppies at the 2011 Toast to HillcerstI’ll be back for a drink with Andy. I didn’t know what to expect from Bayu’s Ethiopian, but the beer samplings were surprisingly delicious…other revelers reported that the spicy tastes were yummy, too. The Gossip Grill’s hynotique cocktail was sweet and so was the pink-haired Monica. Stopped at Bombay and they had complete buffet with a dozen items..all amazingly good and the mango martini’s were oh-so-tasty. I really enjoyed the Golden Spoon’s yummy red velvet cake yogurt! I will be back!! I ran out of time to make it to The Loft and Burger Lounge, but that just means I need to come back to Hilcrest real soon! Thanks for the fun!

The Hillcrest History Guild (HHG) works to preserve the character of our neighborhood and pass the history on to future generations. In 2005 the Hillcrest Clean T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) was created by the HHG and today continues as the Neighborhood Improvement Committee of the Hillcrest Town Council. Each year the HHG treats the community to a Movie on the Roof of Whole Foods Market, coordinates a neighborhood community holiday potluck, advocates for Hillcrest and provides support to neighborhood organizations. Recently the HHG made a donation to the displaced victims of the University Avenue fire. Be on the lookout for new History Guild street banners throughout the community this fall.

Next year’s Toast to Hillcrest (always the Thursday evening following CityFest) will be on August 16. Get your tickets through the end of July for just $19 (then $25 in August). Thanks again to everyone who made this such a successful FUNdraiser for the Hillcrest History Guild.
