Highway 163 southboundThis morning’s downpour turned
into a beautiful sunny afternoon!

The newly renovated Britt Scripps Inn (at Maple and Fourth) which was built in 1887, gave away 1,887 long-stem red roses (by the dozen) to 158 military personnel on Valentine’s Day.

Another park tree (this time a giant pine) fell across southbound 163 just north of the Richmond Street ramp. One of the new Caltrans barriers was smashed (actually the old steel guardrail at the top of the photo held up much better). At rush hour another tree fell blocking the northbound lanes.
