Hillcrest will say good-bye to k-rails this Thursday, Feb. 23 <

San Diego traffic engineer Gary Pence has let the community know that the removal of the k-rails at Tenth & Robinson has been scheduled for this Thursday, February 23 beginning between 8-9am. Neighborhood activists will be attaching balloons early in the morning which to wave “bye bye” when the unwanted k-rails are hauled away. Last month Pence thanked the community for our continued patience. (It has been a multi-year process, but these ugly cement barriers that have been magnets for trash and graffitti as well as creating neighborhood congestion will finally be gone forever.)

Hillcrest appreciates the assistance of Gibran Maciel in Assemblywoman Toni Atkins’ office. Everyone is welcome to join the celebration to say good-bye to the barriers. (We hear there may be champagne.)
