Cliff May was a San Diego native who went on to be nationally known as “father of the American ranch house.” The weekend begins on Saturday, March 26, with lectures by noted Cliff May experts who will introduce the Sunday tour focusing on his early career. The evening will be enjoyed at a classic home in Coronado designed by May as the elegant site of a cocktail party. On both days, SOHO’s museum shops at the Marston House and the Whaley House will feature select Spanish Revival and Mexicana style furnishings, decorative items and books on architecture, preservation and do-it-yourself projects.

The day-long, self-guided home tour on Sunday, March 27, from 10am to 5pm, will invite visitors inside six Hacienda style homes, each centered around a courtyard in the historic San Diego neighborhoods of Talmadge, Presidio Hills, Loma Portal and Point Loma. Guests will have the choice of driving themselves or using the trolley provided at no extra cost.
