The Hillcrest Farmers Market (normally open every Sunday from 9am til 2pm) will be closed this Sunday (Christmas) and again a week later (on New Years Day). Market manager David Larson (right) is taking a well-deserved break in Thailand as he and his wife visit with her family. On Thursday he emailed, “It has been six years since we closed the market for any reason when Christmas and New Years fell on Sunday back then. We will miss all of our supporters and customers. See you all when we return on January 8.”

The Hillcrest Farmers Market is consistently voted the best in San Diego. This popular community gathering was created in 1997 by the Hillcrest Business Association and consists of 125 vendors offering a wide variety of locally grown in-season fruit, produce, gifts, arts & crafts and flowers. The market also hosts a large variety of prepared food and hot food items.
