Candidates address the HTC

Over 75 neighbors attended Tuesday night’s Hillcrest Town Council (HTC) meeting to query those running in the June 3rd primary election. Council District 3 candidates Todd Gloria, Stephen Whitburn, James Hartline and Robert E. Lee, US congressional candidate Steve Copas, a rep for Yes on props A, B & C and mayoral candidate Steve Francis all spoke to a receptive Hillcrest audience.

Barry Hager, spokesperson for the Interim Height Ordinance updated the crowd and encouraged residents to attend city council when the ordinance is heard. (We are still awaiting the date). Barry explained that this has now been a two-year process, and the community must continue to press city council members to pass the ordinance as originally written with a firm height limit north of Upas. A vote of the HTC confirmed unanimous support. Postcards are available to mail to City Hall urging support of the ordinance. Anyone interested in obtaining the postcards, call (619) 260-1929. Fill out your pack of nine cards and take them to your next meal at the Crest Cafe, and they will stamp and mail them for you.
