Hillcrest & Bankers Hill get a shine

brianThanks to dozens of volunteers, the two neighborhoods that host the weekend-long Pride events are shining once more. Lots of folks started at 7am Monday morning picking up trash (and more items that you don’t want to read about).

Every Monday after Pride is neighborhood clean-up day! After five hours of work, the volunteers were treated to snack and drinks at Urban Mo’s for a job well done. Both communities look marvelous!

Thanks to all the volunteers who joined in this effort, it sure looks good out there. Also Thanks to Anthony Bernal from Todd Gloria’s office for getting us a dumpster and AT&T Hillcrest for giving us a place to park it and Chris Shaw for buying all the volunteers a drink and snacks after a job well done. Thanks also San Diego Pride for including Bankers Hill Residents Group as a Pride partner this year along with Hillcrest Town Council Clean TEAM. It is a wonderful way for Pride to show the neighbors its appreciation.

  2. I too want to thank San Diego Pride for including Bankers Hill Residents as a Pride partner. But also all the individuals who came out for the first time to be part of the Bankers Hill Clean Team. It is not the job that any of us pictured doing when in High School – but is a job to make our community nicer. Plus, because of Pride’s donation – we now have some funds to make more people aware of the Bankers Hill Residents group and create ideas to improve our neighborhood.

    Thanks all around!
